Message from Mayor Mark Skelton

Welcome to the City of Hoyt Lakes web site!  Hoyt Lakes is located on the east end of the “Iron Range” in northeastern Minnesota, approximately 50 minutes from Lake Superior, with a population of approximately 2,000.  Two of Minnesota’s 10,000 lakes are located right here in our City – Colby and Whitewater Lakes.

Hoyt Lakes is a small town with year-round activities which include a Library, Fisherman’s Point Campground, hockey arena, golf course, hiking and biking trails, swimming beach, ATV/Snowmobile trails, softball fields, tennis and volleyball courts, picnic areas and much more.  Hoyt Lakes is very proud of the services and activities that we provide to our residents and visitors.

I hope that you will be able to visit us in the future and stay at Fisherman’s Point Campground or at the Country Inn of Hoyt Lakes.  If you are interested in relocating to our area, we offer a very safe and quiet community.  We also have site ready locations for light and heavy industry in the Laskin Energy Park; we will work hard to help you arrange a financial package to fit your needs.

Hoyt Lakes has a lot to offer whether you are looking for a place to live, build, relocate a business or just to recreate.  Please stop by for a visit soon!!
